Privacy Policy
Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information: When you create a Klips account or connect a social media account, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and username. You may also choose to provide other details in your profile.
Social Media Connection Data: To enable publishing, Klips uses the OAuth 2.0 protocol to connect your TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube account. When you grant permission, Klips receives an access token from the social network. We do not collect or store your social media passwords. The token is stored securely (encrypted at rest) and used only to post content on your behalf. You remain in control of which accounts are linked.
Content and Usage Data: We collect the content you provide (text, images, video, etc.) for publishing to your linked social accounts. We also gather technical and usage information (such as IP addresses, browser type, log data, and cookies) to operate the service, improve performance, and enhance security.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for legitimate business purposes, including:
• Providing the Service: To deliver Klips features, publish your content to your social accounts, and communicate with you (e.g. notifications, support).
• Security and Compliance: To protect Klips and our users (e.g. fraud prevention, security audits) and to comply with legal obligations.
• Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our platform. For example, we use aggregated, anonymized data to understand trends and enhance functionality. We will never sell your personal data to third parties.
How We Share Your Information
Klips will not disclose your personal information except as described below:
• Social Networks: We share your content and access token with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube strictly to publish the posts you create in Klips. This is necessary for the service to operate. We do not use this access for any other purpose.
• Service Providers: We may engage trusted third-party vendors (e.g. hosting providers, analytics services) to perform functions on our behalf. These providers have access only to the information needed to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Klips or others. For example, if we receive a valid court order or subpoena, we may be compelled to provide user data.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Data Storage and Security
We store Klips data on secure servers protected by industry-standard security measures. Klips implements technical and organizational safeguards (such as encryption in transit and at rest, firewalls, and access controls) to protect personal data.
Only authorized Klips personnel and trusted service providers can access your information under strict confidentiality obligations. You should keep your Klips and social media account credentials confidential and must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use.
Despite our efforts, no system can be 100% secure; however, we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access.
OAuth and Social Account Access
Klips uses OAuth 2.0 for secure social network integration. When you connect a TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube account, you are redirected to that service's authorization page. You log in directly with the social platform and grant Klips permission to post on your behalf.
Klips only receives an access token (no passwords) which is stored encrypted. This token allows Klips to publish content you create. You may revoke Klips's access at any time by disconnecting the account in Klips or changing the permissions in your social media settings.
Upon revocation or account deletion, we will delete the associated token and any data stored solely for that purpose. (Note: Content already published cannot be "unposted" by Klips once sent.)

Your Rights Under Canadian Law
Klips respects your privacy rights under Canadian law. In particular:
• You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to correct any inaccuracies
• You have the right to erasure (request deletion) of your personal data, subject to legal obligations to retain certain data
• You may withdraw consent to processing or otherwise restrict how we use your information

Law 25 also mandates that businesses appoint a Privacy Officer to oversee compliance.
To exercise any of your rights, please contact us (see below). We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days, as required by law.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, to reflect new laws or changes in our services). If changes are material, we will notify you (for instance by email or a notice on our site) and update the "Effective Date" at the top.
